The beloved shop will bring its toasty warm sandwiches and signature shakes to the United Terminal
HOUSTON, Texas – Potbelly Sandwich Shop announced today a signed agreement that will soon bring a new location to the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston. Currently slated to open in the first half of 2017, the shop will be located in the brand new wing of Terminal C. The widely acclaimed neighborhood hangout is known for its signature sandwiches, fresh-made salads and hand-dipped milkshakes.
Potbelly shops have earned a reputation in communities across the United States for having delicious food, fun décor and a community atmosphere. LaTrelle’s Management Corporation was selected to run the food court in the terminal and will be making Potbelly’s available to hungry travelers. Wally James, Chief Operating Officer for LaTrelle's, will oversee operations at the IAH Potbelly Shop.
To help customers feel transported to downtown Houston without leaving the airport, local Houston artist Sebastien Boileau will be creating remixes of some his classic pieces of Houston street art to draw in local flavor to the IAH location. Kenneth James, LaTrelle’s CEO & President, thinks Boileau’s artwork will help customers feel connected to Houston.
“An affordable, well-known brand such as Potbelly will really resonate with individuals and families passing through,” Kenneth said. “Along with the Houston flare that comes from incorporating Sebastien’s artwork into the seating area, I think the shop will be a home run with travelers in Terminal C.”
LaTrelle’s Management Corporation, a family business with more than 30 years experience bringing dining options to airports, currently operates 35 restaurants and 11 brands across five airports in the United States.
“Potbelly very carefully selects our franchisees, entrepreneurs and operators so our brand is represented by individuals with proven entrepreneurial success and a strong connection to the local community. LaTrelle’s brings decades of experience connecting individuals in transit to delicious, affordable dining options in Houston,” said Rick Fossali, senior director of domestic franchising for Potbelly Sandwich Shop. “As every new sandwich shopis designed to resemble the community in which it resides, we believe LaTrelle’s will help turn this Potbelly shop into a unique airport experience that makes Houston locals and travelers alike feel right at home.”
Houston Intercontinental Airport’s Potbelly Sandwich Shop will be open from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
Potbelly Sandwich Shop first opened in Chicago in 1977, and now includes more than 400 shops across the United States. There are also 30-plus franchise shops in the United States and abroad, and the company is projectingmore franchised shops to open in 2015.
